Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to react after Harry Kane announced that he would be staying with Tottenham for the 2021/22 campaign.

What’s the story?

Well, after an entire summer of speculation, the 61-cap England international has put talk regarding his future to bed.

According to Sky Sports, Manchester City submitted a £100m bid back in June, which was swiftly rejected by Daniel Levy.

Now, Pep Guardiola will have to make do with his other multi-million pound attackers, as Kane will be staying in N17.

After hearing the news, Lineker took to Twitter to share his thoughts as the summer’s biggest transfer saga came to an end.

You can see the BBC Match of the Day host’s tweet below.

It’s interesting to see Lineker wish Kane good luck.

After somewhat alienating parts of the fanbase, it is up to the 28-year-old to dust off his reputation and win them back.

Despite a summer of huge uncertainty, things are starting to look up for Tottenham.

At the start of the summer, the north Londoners didn’t know who would be managing them, nor did they know who would lead the line this season.

Now, Nuno Espirito Santo is here, and has impressively won his first two Premier League games without conceding a goal.

Additionally, Europe’s best striker is staying. Add in the exciting arrivals of Cristian Romero and Bryan Gil, and things are looking very good for Spurs.

If Fabio Paratici can deliver either a new centre-back, right-back or midfielder, the 2021/22 season could be a memorable one in N17.
