Moussa Sissoko has told Harry Kane via his Instagram story that becoming Tottenham Hotspur’s all-time leading goalscorer is a ‘big achievement’.

The French midfielder would have been present when Kane was at the peak of his powers at Hotspur Way, including the 17/18 season when he hit 30 goals in 37 Premier League matches.

Well, the 29-year-old has every chance of beating his personal best because, after 22 league games this term, he has already matched last season’s tally of 17.

Whilst a certain Erling Haaland has gone goal-crazy this season, scoring 25 from just 20, then it does take the limelight away from Kane slightly.

But the England captain was the centre of attention on Sunday when he scored the winning goal during his side’s 1-0 win over Manchester City and, as result, became the club’s highest-goal-getter with 267 and surpassing the great, Jimmy Greaves.

Kane’s former teammate, Moussa Sissoko, who is now playing for Nantes, posted on his IG story: ‘Congratulations @harrykane. Big achievement.’

WILL KANE BREAK SHEARER’S RECORD?

All those individual records are stacking up for Kane. From being Tottenham’s leading goalscorer to needing one more goal to become England’s all-time top scorer.

The big one is Alan Shearer’s 260. Many are backing the £200k-a-week Spurs star (Spotrac) to do it, that’s if he is still in the Premier League.

There is every chance, with his contract having less than 18 months left to run, that he could be playing abroad.

What’s probably worse to hear for Spurs fans is that he still might do it, but in the colours of another English club. Either way, the record is there for Kane to take.
