Gary Neville has claimed that the likes of Leeds and Brentford would be a ‘big losses’ to the Premier League if they got relegated, as he told Sky Sports.

Whilst the Sky pundit thinks there is ‘no doubt’ Leeds and Brentford can get dragged into that relegation dogfight, he thinks Everton will ‘get out of it’.

Leeds conceded six goals last week, including suffering a 3-0 defeat at Everton to make them just peer over their shoulders slightly.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are six points ahead of the drop zone and they have played a game less than 18th-placed Norwich.

Neville shared his thoughts on the relegation battle following Newcastle’s 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday – their third league win in a row.

“A little bit Brentford more than (Everton and Leeds),” said Neville. “I think Everton will get out of it.

“I think Leeds could get dragged in. Brentford, I would be worried about. They have played a few more games. That Newcastle team. That performance isn’t going down.

“There’s no doubt that there are one or two of those sides, Leeds and Brentford, who could get dragged back into if they are not careful.

“They would be big losses to the Premier League, by the way. But Brentford and Leeds have brought a lot. I always see great games when those two are playing. But that won’t count for anything.”

It took Leeds nearly two decades to return to the big time, there is no way they will let it slip just like that.

The issue with the Yorkshire club is the number of injuries they have had to deal with this season.

With the likes of Liam Cooper, Kalvin Phillips, Junior Firpo and Patrick Bamford already out of action.

Their versatile machine, Stuart Dallas, joined them in the treatment room when he was forced off injured at Goodison Park over the weekend, which only makes matters worse.
