Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been discussing Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka and their influence in the Arsenal midfield.

The Gunners have been in good form as of late – barring a disappointing loss to Crystal Palace this week, and Seaman has been mightily impressed by the midfield pairing of Xhaka in Partey, claiming that the pair have been bringing their A-game as of late.

What’s been said?

Seaman spoke about Xhaka and Partey in the wake of the Ghanaian’s injury.

“It’s going to be difficult, especially with Partey out. He has been a big influence in that midfield, but so has Xhaka really. They’ve both been playing their A game recently, but I don’t know how long he’ll be out. If it’s his hamstring that will be at least three weeks, so that’s not good.”

Been great

Aside from the game against Palace, Seaman is right, Xhaka and Partey have been great.

It’s no coincidence that two of the most experienced players in Arsenal’s squad have stepped up as we’ve reached the business-end of the season, and the Gunners will certainly miss Partey in the next few weeks.

Luckily for Arsenal, their next two games are very winnable matches against Brighton and Southampton, but with Chelsea and Manchester United coming up after that, the Gunners will be hoping that Partey is back sooner rather than later.

He’s been bringing his A-game in recent weeks, and he’ll also need to do so upon his return.
