Bacary Sagna would surely thrive at West Brom if given a Premier League lifeline.

The fact that Bacary Sagna is still without a club over two months after leaving Manchester City upon the expiry of his contract should come as a surprise.

The Frenchman may be no spring chicken at the age of 34 but he is hugely experienced in the Premier League and in European competition to boot and remained a regular for Guardiola’s City last season.

However, The Sun reports that Sagna will not have to wait much longer to find new employment with a trio of Premier League clubs considering offering the free-agent a contract, including West Ham, Brighton and Crystal Palace.

Yet, if West Brom are still interested, and L’Equipe claimed they were this summer, now is the time to act.

The Baggies are still somewhat short of options at right-back with Craig Dawson impressing in his more natural centre-half role at the start of the season and Allan Nyom often chosen to fill the void on the left hand side.

Sagna, however, would add more balance on the flank while providing expert crossing ability that could provide Salomon Rondon in particular with some much needed service.

Furthermore, it’s no secret that Pulis is a fan of experience and Sagna’s big game mentality would be a major boost to a side reeling from the departure of Darren Fletcher, a huge influence on and off the pitch at The Hawthorns.

With Sagna available on a free contract, West Brom could do a lot worse than to hand the veteran one last chance in Premier League football.
