Some Everton fans on social media have been raving over Thierry Small after he scored yet another goal for the U23s.
‘Goal machine’ isn’t a phrase you’d usually use to describe a left-back, but that’s what he’s been touted as on Twitter, and for good reason as well.
Small’s goal on Monday evening was his sixth goal of the season for the youth outfit, and that’s quite simply a ridiculous return from the left-back spot.
The 16-year-old made history a few weeks ago by becoming Everton’s youngest ever player, and he’s completely justified Carlo Ancelotti’s decision to give him a first-team chance once again by impressing for the U23s.
It’s no wonder why there is reportedly widespread interest in signing Small this summer when his youth contract is up, and as you can imagine, a number of supporters online were calling for him to be offered professional terms sooner rather than later.
Whether or not Everton can convince Small to stay remains to be seen, but if they do manage to keep hold of him, it looks as though they’re going to have a real player on their hands.
