Raheem Sterling has told Ian Wright that his goal for Liverpool in 2014 against Manchester City is one of the favourites of his career.

The now-Chelsea winger shared how that moment provided him with a ‘big feeling’ and a ‘nice feeling’, which came during a 3-2 win for Liverpool against Man City.

At the time, Sterling was still a fresh-faced youngster, coming through under Brendan Rodgers, before he ended up moving to the Etihad in controversial circumstances.

That move didn’t exactly land him in the good books of the Liverpool supporters, as he ended up winning four Premier League titles under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola, amongst other domestic honours.

Fast forward to the present, he has now taken another step in his career, this time trying to help Chelsea revive themselves under the new ownership of Todd Boehly.

Nonetheless, Arsenal legend Ian Wright told Sterling that his favourite goal of the England winger’s was his late winner against Southampton, which he agreed with, before naming his own, as he told Premier League Productions (31/10/22 at 2:10 pm).

“That is up there (his stoppage-time winner for Man City against Southampton), for sure, with the significance,” said Sterling.

“I would say my goal for Liverpool against Manchester City as well. That was another, when you are talking about feeling inside, that was a big feeling and a nice feeling, I should say.”

CAN STERLING SCORE 200 PREMIER LEAGUE GOALS?

One thing is for sure, Sterling has proven his worth on the Premier League stage, even though he stuck his chest out and moved to Manchester City in such a bold fashion.

From his 331 league matches for Liverpool, Man City and now Chelsea, he has scored 112 and supplied 78 assists along the way.

Given that he is going to turn 28 next month, the 79-cap England international could argue that the best is yet to come, and if that’s the case, then he may well hit 200+ goals in the league alone by the time he is done, which would be some feat.
