Ashley Williams has claimed that he ‘really enjoys’ watching Raphinha in action for Leeds United, as he told Final Score on the BBC.
Whilst Leeds couldn’t secure all three points on Saturday, Raphinha, found the back of the net for the second game running.
It has been, just like his style of play, a blistering start for the £17 million player (BBC Sport) this season.
With the Whites winless in six games, if they are to get out of their current rut, then the magic is probably going to be provided via the feet of Raphinha’s.
During his days in the Premier League, Williams would have come up against a number of top-quality attackers.
And he spoke in awe of Raphinha, his style and how he just loves watching him in action.
“I am big a big fan of his,” said Williams. “I really enjoy watching him play.
“He’s left-footed and plays off the right-wing. He’s got all the tricks. It’s the balance and the way he looks after the ball.
“He could have easily smashed that (his goal v West Ham) but he just caresses into the bottom corner.”

When Raphinha went off during Leeds’ 2-1 defeat to West Ham, it changed the tide of the game.
That attacking bite Marcelo Bielsa’s side had was out of the window, and with no Patrick Bamford, it was even more difficult for the home team to get a goal.
But with Watford paying a visit to Elland Road next, they have their own high-quality wingers on their books and it’s going to be some contest out on the flanks when the two teams clash.
The last time Bielsa’s men came up against a winger with feet as dazzling as Raphinha’s, a certain Allan Saint-Maximin was putting Leeds defenders on their backsides and the ball into the back of the net.
And they will be hoping Ismaïla Sarr has an off day when he visits Yorkshire because he has netted three in his last two for the Hornets.
