What a comeback by Leeds United.
Tonight, Leeds have moved seven points clear of the relegation zone following a stunning and dramatic 3-2 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Jesse Marsch’s troops were trailing 2-0 at the break.
However, a quickfire double from Jack Harrison and Rodrigo – after Raul Jimenez’s red card – brought the Whites back to level terms.
And in the final minutes, right-back Luke Ayling fired home a winner to complete an insane comeback during a dramatic night at Molineux.
Here’s how Leeds legend Luciano Becchio and Salim Lamrani, Marcelo Bielsa’s former translator, reacted to the victory on Twitter:
Regardless of the fact they faced 10 men for much of the second half, Leeds deserve enormous credit.
Despite their numerical advantage, Marsch’s outfit had to make a number of injury-related substitutions – including Patrick Bamford.
So for United to still muster the courage to pull off a result like this, well it’s something special and there’s a lot to be said for the spirit that the American manager’s players displayed.
This is now Leeds’ second successive Premier League victory under Marsch following a tough opening couple of games after replacing the legendary Bielsa.
But tonight is evidence that the Whites players are firmly in Marsch’s corner and relegation from this position looks very, very unlikely.
