Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips was first on the scene to console Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka after his heartbreaking penalty miss for England in the Euro 2020 final.
Italy won the shootout and it was Saka missing from 12 yards which handed victory to Roberto Mancini’s side.
There is footage doing the rounds on Twitter of the Leeds midfielder running toward his Arsenal counterpart as blue shirts darted past him en route to congratulate Gianluigi Donnarumma, who saved the Gunners star’s effort.

Bright futures
This was Phillips and Saka’s first major tournament for England, but it certainly won’t be their last.
Aged only 19, Saka will have plenty of bright moments in an England shirt between now and the end of his career, while the Leeds product was arguably one of his country’s best and most consistent performers.
This time last year, the 25-year-old, who started all seven of the Three Lions’ games during the tournament, had just won promotion from the Championship under Marcelo Bielsa.
His rise has been nothing short of immense and the same could be said for the Arsenal gem, who won his club’s Player of the Year award last season in spite of being the youngest in the squad.
