Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has suggested to Leeds Live that he has been so impressed by Jamie Shackleton, Ian Poveda and Pascal Struijk in training this season.
Shackleton, Poveda and Struijk were all handed starting chances for Leeds yesterday, as they beat Derby County 3-1.
The youngsters impressed, as Leeds managed to pick up victory, just days after being crowned Championship champions.
And Leeds boss Bielsa felt that the three youngsters’ performances were a result of the hard work they had put in in training over the course of the season.
“The performance today of Shackleton, Poveda and Pascal is because they worked a lot in training to perform like they performed today,” he said.
Shackleton actually scored Leeds’ second goal of the contest, with a lovely finish after being played through by Tyler Roberts.

Pablo Hernandez and an own goal from Matt Clarke also helped Leeds to pick up yet another three points.
Just how much game time Shackleton, Poveda and Struijk will get next season, following Leeds’ promotion, is unclear but their showings yesterday will not have done their cases for more regular action any harm.
