Leeds United found it tough going against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa spoke to reporters after his side’s hard-fought win over Bolton at Elland Road on Saturday, and highlighted what disappointed him about the performance of his players, as quoted by Leeds Live.
The Whites now sit in third spot in the Championship table, but they can jump back to the summit if they win their game in hand tomorrow night away at Queens Park Rangers.
Leeds have now won back-to-back Championship games, and Bielsa will surely be confident that his side can finish the season inside the top two of the table.
The Argentine spoke to reporters after Saturday’s 2-1 win over the Trotters, suggesting that his team were not clinical enough, and that they need to do better when defending set-pieces, as quoted by Leeds Live:
“We had chances to score and we didn’t score goals and we suffered on set pieces. We had many chances to score and missed many goals and the dangerous actions created by the opponent were on set pieces especially.”
Bilesa has implemented a wonderfully exciting brand off attacking football at Leeds, but on Saturday they showed another side to their game.
The ability to grind out a result when they weren’t anywhere near their best will surely please their manager.
