Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that Rodrigo did not start against Everton at Elland Road today due to injury.
Bielsa’s Leeds played out a 2-2 draw with Everton at Elland Road in the Premier League today.
Rodrigo, who is a versatile player and can operate as a winger, striker or attacking midfielder, did not feature in the game.
The Spain international was an unused substitute.
Bielsa has explained why Rodrigo did not feature today, and the Leeds boss has also said that the 30-year-old shone the most in pre-season training, adding that he hopes that he will explode this campaign.

Bielsa told Leeds Live about Rodrigo: “During the week he had a slight muscular issue of which he recovered quickly.
“If that hadn’t happened he would’ve been our offensive midfielder in the game today. I have a lot of confidence in the qualities of Rodrigo.
“During his holidays he did physical work that was very important and during the six weeks of pre-season he’s the player who shone the most in those weeks.
“I have a lot of hopes for him that this season he’s going to show all the qualities that he has.”

Big player for Leeds United
As you will have noticed from Bielsa’s comments above, the Leeds head coach thinks that Rodrigo could explode this season.
The Spain international had injury problems last season and could not make a massive impact.
Rodrigo still did relatively well, especially towards the end of the campaign.
The attacker scored seven goals and gave two assists in 1291 minutes in the Premier League last season.
Rodrigo is a very good player who can be massive for Leeds this season if he stays fit.
