Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that Jean-Kevin Augustin is training without any problems – but a decision on a permanent move hasn’t been made.
The Whites drew 1-1 with Luton Town on Tuesday night, as Harry Cornick’s opener for the visitors was cancelled out by a Stuart Dallas equaliser.
Leeds weren’t at their best but could have easily won, and some will wonder whether Augustin could have made a difference for the Whites.
Augustin joined Leeds from RB Leipzig in January, and looked to be a huge coup given his reputation in Germany and with Paris Saint-Germain back in France.
However, after barely featuring for Monaco, Augustin arrived with poor conditioning. The 23-year-old has managed just three substitute appearances totalling 68 minutes.
Rumours of a new injury for Augustin surfaced last month, and he wasn’t on the bench for last night’s game against Luton – even with a nine-man bench.

Now, Bielsa has admitted that Augustin is training without problems after his latest knock, but seemingly felt he wasn’t ready to play.
Bielsa suggested that Leeds haven’t taken a decision on Augustin’s long-term future yet, with a permanent move surely in doubt given his lack of impact.
“At the moment I have nothing to form on this. Training so far without any problem,” said Bielsa. “It’s a decision we will communicate when we take it,” he added when asked if he wants to see Augustin stay.
