Marcelo Bielsa has told Leeds Live that he believes Leeds United duo Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo are ready to play in the Premier League right now.
Bamford and Rodrigo will compete to lead the line for Leeds this season, in the Whites first season back in the top flight.
Leeds broke their transfer record to sign Rodrigo from Valencia this summer, and Bielsa is convinced that there will be no adaptation period needed for the 29-year-old.
“He is already ready,” Bielsa said, when asked how long Rodrigo would need to get used to life in England’s top flight.
Bielsa was then asked about Bamford, who was picked to start on opening day for Leeds, and a similar response came back.
“I think he has the required level to play in the Premier League,” the Argentine boss added. “But you have to show these things rather than declare them.”
Bamford looks set to start for Leeds against Fulham tomorrow, but Rodrigo will surely be Bielsa’s first choice in the long-term.

Bamford did score for Leeds on opening day, but he will have to keep hitting the net if he is to win over all his doubters.
Leeds put in a highly encouraging performance against Liverpool, but they ultimately were unable to secure any reward for their efforts, as they slipped to a 4-3 defeat.
The Whites were still widely praised for their display at Anfield, but if they do not pick up the three points against Fulham tomorrow, then the attitude may be far less forgiving.
