Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has said he will try to arrange loan opportunities for his squad’s fringe players, according to Leeds Live.
Asked a question regarding Kiko Casilla during the press conference ahead of his side’s Premier League meeting with Fulham this weekend, the former Marseille boss said: “All the players who won’t have a chance in the first team, we will try to find them loans.”
That should come as encouraging news for a number of potential future stars at Elland Road, some of whom only arrived this summer.
Leeds boast some real gems such as Joe Gelhardt – signed from Wigan Athletic following the club’s administration – as well as Sam Greenwood and Crysensio Summerville, who arrived from Feyenoord this week.
With Leeds hoping to survive their first campaign back in the Premier League, Bielsa may be unable to afford these untested options a lot of game time.
Additionally, following Wednesday’s Carabao Cup defeat to Hull, another potential source of game time has disappeared.
The players may need to go out on loan or run the risk of stagnating.
