It’s been a horrible first season at Leeds United for Diego Llorente.
The Whites spent £18 million on signing the Spanish centre-back last summer but with only 15 games of the campaign left, Llorente has managed only 91 minutes of Premier League football.
Injuries haven’t been kind to the 27-year-old one bit but Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa delivered some great news during his press conference today.
Bielsa, whose side visit Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday night, revealed that the big man was finally available for selection again.
He said briefly via Leeds Live: “Klich and Llorente are available.”
Leeds have won admirers this season for being the Premier League’s entertainers.
Scoring 40 and conceding 42 in 23 games is one hell of a record for all the right and wrong reasons.
But given that Robin Koch has also spent most of the campaign out injured, you do have to wonder how much better defensively Leeds would be doing if not for bad luck.
That being said, United are only five points behind seventh-placed Everton and a strong end to the season, with Llorente playing every game, might see them finish with a flourish.
