Leeds United should consider bringing Chile defender back to the Championship.
Marcelo Bielsa will be unveiled by Leeds United today and talk will immediately turn to potential new signings.
Several strikers have already been linked but his plans in defence are unclear, and Leeds really need additions.
An ideal signing would be Gonzalo Jara, a player with experience in the Championship and of Marcelo Bielsa’s system.
Jara has 110 caps for Chile and starred under Bielsa during his time in charge of the national team.
His experience in English football is extensive, playing for West Bromwich Albion, Brighton and Hove Albion, and most recently Nottingham Forest.
Jara left Forest in 2014 to play in Germany, and is currently back in his homeland with Universidad de Chile.
He is far from past it at 32-years-old and Bielsa could surely persuade him to return to England, a country Jara called his home for five years.
He can play at both centre-back and full-back, and is well versed in Bielsa’s 3-3-1-3 formation.

Taking the chance to do so at Leeds could turn out to be a smart move.
