Speaking to GiveMeSport, Fabrizio Romano has issued an update on the status of reported Wolves and Tottenham target Diego Costa.
The striker was relased by Atletico Madrid last month, and he has been a free agent ever since.
As you can imagine, Costa being available for free has led to a plethora of clubs being linked with a move for the Spain international, and two sides that have been credited with an interest are Wolves and Tottenham.
Romano claims that Costa has received an offer from a club, but it’s not a side from the Premier League.
Fortunately, it doesn’t seem as though Costa is going to take immediately the offer from abroad, with Romano claiming that he’s keen to come back to England.
“To be honest, the only club who have made an official bid in this 10 days has been Al-Hilal in Arabic football, so the only bid he has received is this one.
“In the Premier League he is hoping. Diego is taking his time, he is taking his time with his family, he wants to decide about his future, if he wants to accept this kind of solution or going for another one.
“But for sure, the only bid received is this one, so if something were to appear from the Premier League, I know he would be happy to be back in the Premier League with a good opportunity.”

Wolves and Tottenham seemingly have a big chance of signing Costa as he wants a Premier League return, but it seems as though they may want to hurry up when it comes to formalising their interest.
Al-Hilal isn’t the most lucrative of destinations in footballing terms, but financially, they’re likely to have offered Costa something acceptable, so if Wolves and Spurs are serious about getting him in, they need to make sure they don’t lose the race to the Saudi Arabian outfit.
Costa is bound to make a few more headlines between now and the end of the season, so it’s probably worth keeping an eye on this situation.
