Rafael Benitez could sell a number of players this summer in order to bring in new faces.

Rafael Benitez will be reportedly given a massive transfer war-chest to sign players of his own choice this summer. However, the Spaniard will be looking to sell some of his players to free up the space for new addition.

Here are five players who could leave the club this summer:

Vurnon Anita

He is a solid player in deep-lying midfield position and provides a good cover in fullback positions. However, with Benitez looking to bring in top quality players, Anita could face stiff competition for places.

The Dutchman’s contract runs out at the end of the current campaign, and as such there’s no new offer on the table.

Yoan Gouffran

The Frenchman has almost rediscovered himself in spells this season, by contributing crucial goals from the midfield.

His work rate has been commendable, but with no new offer on the table, it seems likely that his career at St James’ Park is as good as over.

Henri Saviet

The 26-year-old defender joined the club in January last year from Bordeaux. He played just four games for the Magpies, and joined French side Saint-Etienne on loan.

He does not feature in Benitez’s first team plans and the club doesn’t want to keep him either.

Jesus Gamez

The Spanish right-back joined the Magpies from Atletico Madrid, but issues with injuries and form has seen him struggle to get regular games.

The 32-year-old could look to move away this summer in order to get some regular game time.

Curtis Good

The 24-year-old has been on Newcastle’s book since 2012, but has made only two appearances for the Magpies.

He has featured for Newcastle’s U-23 side, and doesn’t look like he can break into the senior team any time soon. A move to the Championship or to Australia would do a world of good for him.
