Tottenham Hotspur snapped up Emerson Royal on transfer deadline day – and some Barcelona fans are furious about it.
Spurs added the right-back to their ranks on Tuesday by signing the right-back on a permanent basis.
Emerson, who spent the last two years on loan at Real Betis, replaces Serge Aurier at Tottenham after the latter had his contract terminated.
The Brazilian is one of several high-profile players to leave Camp Nou this summer – the largest being Lionel Messi, obviously – but Antoine Griezmann was also loaned back to Atletico Madrid.

He joins Pierluigi Gollini, Cristian Romero, Bryan Gil and Pape Matar Sarr to join Tottenham this summer – the latter of whom was immediately loaned back to Metz.
But really, the big news of Spurs’ whole window was the revelation that Harry Kane would be staying put.
Those five signings are incapable of having as big an impact in North London without Kane scoring the goals up front and because of the England captain, a good window has become an exceptional one.
