Speaking on ITV’s coverage of England vs Czech Republic, (22/6/21 8:45PM) Ian Wright has been waxing-lyrical about Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.
Wright has taken a line from the hit TV show Loki to describe Saka, claiming that everyone at Arsenal knows he’s burdened with a glorious purpose.
Wright was blown away by Saka’s showing in his major tournament debut, stating that between him, Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling they ran the Czechs ragged.
What’s been said?
The Arsenal legend gave Saka a rave review.
“Saka, my guy, everyone at Arsenal knows that Saka is burdened with glorious purpose, this is what Saka’s been doing all season, he’s getting us out of holes by being positive, going at people and making things happen, and that’s exactly what England needed today, it’s fantastic and I’m delighted for him,” Wright said.
“Between him and Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling they’ve been magnificent, run them ragged.”

Has to start
Wright highlighted both Saka and Grealish as players that had the Czechs on the ropes, and after that showing surely they both have to start in the Round of 16.
England looked so flat against Croatia and Scotland, but whenever Grealish or Saka got on the ball against the Czech Republic they looked as though they were going to make something happen.
Getting a win against France, Germany or Portugal will be tough, but as we’ve seen in so many tournaments, if you’re going to beat a top team, you have to take the game to them.
Fingers crossed Gareth Southgate makes the right decision on this pair.
