Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Antonio Conte has been speaking about his midfield selection dilemma.
Oliver Skipp is banned for the London club’s game against Leeds United this weekend after accumulating five yellow cards this season, so Conte has to make a change in his midfield.
The Italian has plenty of options to choose from, the likes of Giovani Lo Celso, Dele Alli and Eric Dier can all play in midfield, but Conte says he’s going to choose between two other players.
Indeed, the gaffer says that either Harry Winks or Tanguy Ndombele will take Skipp’s place in the middle of the park.
What’s been said?
Conte spoke about how he’s going to replace Skipp.
“Skippy was banned for one game but in the previous games we played with Skippy and Hojbjerg. I hope today to have Hojbjerg back with the team because he was away for the week, and then there is one between Winks and Tanguy [to play instead of Skipp],” Conte said.

Should be Winks
This is a tough decision for Conte to make, but, in our view, he should be choosing Harry Winks for this game.
Now, we’re not saying that Winks is a better player than Ndombele. In fact, it could easily be argued that the opposite is true, but against Leeds, you need a player who is going to put in the hard yards, and Ndombele often doesn’t do that.
This will be a physical war of attrition, and while Ndombele is technically brilliant, Winks’ willingness to run may serve him better.
