West Ham United boss David Moyes has been listed by the bookmakers as a contender for the Queens Park Rangers job.

Holloway returned for a second spell in charge of the Hoops in November 2016 but leaves 18 months later having guided the club to a 16th place finish in the Championship which saw them finish 19 points off the top six and 15 points clear of the bottom three.

The Daily Mail reports that Steve McClaren is set to take over from Holloway, so it is little surprise that he is the clear favourite with the bookmaker Sky Bet, with McClaren now listed at 1/3.
Interestingly however, Moyes is now listed as the 6/1 second favourite to take the job at Loftus Road just a few days after he oversaw the win that will guarantee that West Ham will be playing in the Premier League again next year.
It has been a turbulent spell for Moyes since he arrived at the London Stadium in 2017. He has ultimately achieved his main objective of keeping the Irons in the top flight – with a couple of games to spare at that – but there is no guarantee that he will still be in the Hammers dugout next year.

While there is uncertainty surrounding Moyes’ position, it is a huge surprise that he appears to be such a serious contender with the bookmakers for the Championship post. It will arguably be a significantly greater shock if anything comes of the odds linking Moyes with the Rangers post.
