West Ham United are being listed as the second favourites to sign Manchester United defender Luke Shaw in the summer.

West Ham may be right in the relegation mix in the Premier League right now, but it appears that bookmaker Bet Victor believe that they have an outside chance of landing Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw in the summer.

There appears to be plenty of uncertainty surrounding Shaw’s future right now. Signed for £27 million in 2014 – fee reported by BBC Sport – injury plagued much of his first few seasons with the club and life has seemingly not got any easier since Jose Mourinho took charge of the Red Devils.

The situation appeared to reach a head at the weekend with Mourinho taking Shaw off at half-time of their FA Cup tie with Brighton and publicly criticising what was a fairly solid performance from the former Southampton man, as reported by the Guardian.

The Guardian also suggests that he is now considering his future at Old Trafford and could potentially end up leaving this summer or staying for another year and leaving on a free when his contract expires in 2019.

And it appears that bookmaker Bet Victor think West Ham may have a chance of luring him away this summer, as they list the Irons as the 6/1 second favourites to sign the left-back while Everton are the current favourites at 4/1.

If there is anything in the odds, it would surely be essential for West Ham to preserve their Premier League status if they hope to stand a chance of signing Shaw.

Currently, David Moyes’ men are 17th with eight games to go. And they face an absolutely vital first game back following the international break with Southampton – the team directly below them in the table – travelling to the London Stadium hoping to match Burnley’s result in the last game at the ground.
