The bookies believe that Newcastle United and West Ham United are leading the race to sign Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere.

Jack Wilshere of Arsenal is closed down by Tiemoue Bakayoko of Chelsea during the Carabao Cup Semi-Final Second Leg at Emirates Stadium on January 24, 2018 in London, England.

Popular bookmakers Ladbrokes have released a market on Arsenal star Jack Wilshere’s next club, listing Newcastle and West Ham as front-runners in the race for his signature.

The 26-year-old’s contract with the Gunners is set to expire in the summer, and it is looking increasingly more likely that he will leave the Emirates at the end of the season.

The Sun claims that both Wilshere and Arsenal have reached an impasse in contract discussions, with the two parties currently a long way apart from agreeing terms.

Ladbrokes list the Magpies as the 7/4 favourites in the race to sign the England international, ahead of the Hammers at 2/1 and Chelsea at 5/2.

Wilshere has demonstrated his ability to remain fit for the entire campaign thus far, making 27 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions, and he has impressed with the fluid manner in which he has gone about his business.

He would be a wonderful signing for either Newcastle or West Ham, especially on a free transfer, but they will have their work cut-out, with so many interested parties in the soon-to-be free agent.
