Popular bookmakers BETVICTOR have installed Chelsea as the new second favourites in the race to sign Baggies ace Salomon Rondon, behind frontrunners Liverpool.

The Blues are expected to sign another striker this month, with Antonio Conte concerned by his lack of options in forward areas.

Alavaro Morata has looked tired recently, and is desperately out of form.

Conte obviously does not trust Michy Batshuayi to fill in for the Spaniard, and will be looking to bring a proven forward into the club this month.

The west London outfit have been linked with numerous strikers this month, including Andy Carroll, Peter Crouch and most recently Edin Dzeko.

BETVICTOR believe that Rondon could also be on their list of targets, however.

The list Chelsea as 4/1 second favourites to win the race for his signature, behind Liverpool at 2/1.

Rondon is a hard worker, and has a lot to offer, but whether he is good enough to help Chelsea contend for major honours is highly doubtful, and their fans will probably not be too overjoyed to see him linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

With just five days remaining until the transfer window slams shut, however, this will be one for Blues fans to keep a close eye on nevertheless.
