Newcastle United are being listed as outside contenders to sign Aston Villa star Jack Grealish during the summer.

Aston Villa fans would have already known how important promotion this season is with the Daily Mirror recently suggesting that Leicester City are keen on a £20 million summer deal for Jack Grealish – but bookmaker Sky Bet believe that Newcastle United may also have an outside chance of signing the attacking midfielder.
Sky Bet list Leicester as the 11/4 favourites to sign the 22-year-old, but Newcastle are not too far behind at 13/2. It must be mentioned that Grealish staying at Villa is, by far, the most likely option in the bookies’ eyes at 1/3. But, of course, those odds may well change if Steve Bruce’s side are unable to secure promotion out of the Championship this season.

The prospect of signing Grealish may well be a topic that divides much of the St James’ Park faithful. His talent has always been undeniable, but there have been questions about his attitude in the past.
However, this season, Grealish appears to have taken his game to another level with three goals and five assists coming in 24 Championship appearances this term, with his recent form proving to be particularly impressive.
He has scored two and provided one assist in his last three appearances for the Villans, so it is little surprise that he is catching Leicester’s eye. But whether he is actually catching Newcastle’s attention remains to be seen.

Rafa Benitez looks to have guided the Magpies to another year in the top flight after they beat Arsenal at the weekend, and will be hoping that they can enjoy a brilliant summer in the transfer market to ensure that they capitalise on the promise that they have shown this year.
Targeting Grealish may be something of a gamble, but based on the form he is showing at the moment, it may be a risk that turns into a stroke of genius from the Magpies if the odds are a sign of things to come.
