Ladbrokes have listed Manchester United as favourites in the race to sign the Tottenham Hotspur ace.
According to popular bookmakers Ladbrokes, Manchester United have been installed as shock 3/1 favourites to sign Tottenham centre-back Jan Vertonghen in January.
The 31-year-old is currently out injured for Spurs, but has been one of the north London outfit’s most consistent players, since joining the club from Ajax for £12 million in the summer of 2012.
Tottenham have plenty of high quality young central defenders amongst their ranks, including Davinson Sanchez and Juan Foyth, so it would be interesting to see their stance on Vertonghen, if Manchester United do in fact make a bid for the Belgian in January.
Ladbrokes have listed the Red Devils as 3/1 favourites to sign Vertonghen in the new year, ahead of AC Milan at 7/2, Atletico Madrid at 4/1 and Monaco at 5/1.
Jose Mourinho is obviously desperate to add more quality to his central defensive ranks at Old Trafford, and if Manchester United do in fact manage to sign the Tottenham man, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for the club.
