Man City continued their pre-season friendlies with a comfortable 4-1 win over Championship side Blackpool.
Goals from Samuel Edozie, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan secured an easy win for Pep Guardiola’s side as they made three pre-season wins out of three.
Indeed, it was an easy fixture for the Premier League champions. Yet for 18-year-old Edozie, it was another showcase performance for the London born attacker.
The former Millwall academy graduate has been the big winner for City this pre-season as Edozie scored in all three of the Manchester side’s friendlies this summer.
Moreover, Guardiola was impressed with the youngster’s displays over the past few weeks. The City manager told the club’s official Twitter account: “Like all of them [young City players], he has a special quality.
“He’s a guy who gets to the box with the intention to score goals, this is so important for wingers. An incredible young winger, good pace. Be patient with him.”
However, it wasn’t just Guardiola who was happy with Edozie. Indeed, plenty of fans on social media were impressed with the England youth international.
The teenager has been the breakout star for the club this summer, and supporters are keen to see more of Edozie next season.
