Whether it’s training or in a match, it’s vitally important for any young player to make the most of their opportunity to impress the club’s senior manager – and Arsenal talent Cirjan Catalin has done just that.
On Friday, the 17-year-old Gunners sensation was included in first-team training as Mikel Arteta put his side through their paces.
A lot of big-name Arsenal players were absent due to international duty, but Catalin might have still left a positive impression on Arteta nonetheless.
The youngster uploaded footage of himself at London Colney scoring a brilliant goal.
Catalin, who signed his first professional contract with the Emirates Stadium club last December, casually rolled the ball past a defender and thumped home a left-footed finish.
And here’s how Arsenal fans reacted to the footage on Twitter:
Arteta is big on rewarding Arsenal players for their attitude and how they train behind the scenes, which might explain why Mesut Ozil has been frozen out.
And although Catalin won’t be making his senior debut in the Premier League anytime soon, he exploited the opportunity that came his way yesterday and made himself known to the Spanish coach.
