Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after Marko Grujic delivered an excellent performance against Lincoln City on Thursday.
The Serbian midfielder was making his first competitive appearance of the campaign, after spending the last two seasons on loan at Hertha Berlin.
Despite there being a considerable difference in quality between the Premier League champions and the League One side, Grujic was excellent.
The 24-year-old managed to get himself on the scoresheet with a well-hit drive into the bottom corner.
Additionally, the man who cost Liverpool £5.1 million from Red Star Belgrade recorded two key passes and had an incredible 107 touches of the ball – more than any other player on the pitch.
Grujic again outperformed everyone on the pitch, this time in the passing department. According to WhoScored, his 95 passes were more than any other player completed.
The Liverpool Echo have reported that Borussia Monchengladbach are interested in signing the midfielder, while Hertha Berlin are also understandably keen.
However, the Reds have slapped a £20 million price tag on his head, and will not entertain any more loan moves for the powerful player.
It remains to be seen what happens with Grujic’s future, but he surely won’t have upset Jurgen Klopp with his performance against Lincoln City.
