Fabio Capello has showered praise on Tottenham Hotspur manager target Luciano Spalletti, whose Napoli side became Serie A champions on Thursday.

A revelation emerged in February that Spurs were interested in appointing the 64-year-old as a replacement for Antonio Conte.

As Tottenham Hotspur remain desperate for a brand-new manager, Fabio Capello has had only nice things to say about Luciano Spalletti.

In late April, it was also claimed that despite his success at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, the 64-year-old could be tempted to manage a Premier League side next season.

During the 2022/2023 campaign, it would be hard to pinpoint a coach who has done a superior job to that of Spalletti’s and that too, with as much style.

As the prospect of Luciano Spalletti becoming the next Tottenham manager will likely excite those in the white half of N17, Fabio Capello has sung his praises.

“Luciano Spalletti, a manager who started from the bottom, from the lower divisions and has grown. I was lucky enough to have him on the opposing team and when he was in Saint Petersburg as a manager, I managed Russia”, he told Sky Sports Football.

“Also, in that case, he proved to be very able, better than the others. He would understand and notice things others wouldn’t even consider. There is always his footprint in the team he has managed, it’s style of play, in its seriousness and sense of pride. What he has been doing in Napoli is a miracle.”

While a majority of Tottenham fans are likely to agree with Fabio Capello about the brilliance of Luciano Spalletti, it would not be a surprise to see many side with the arrival of another manager instead of him.

After all, the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique, in particular are currently out-of-work.

But considering the ‘Spurs way’ of playing football is of such importance within the fanbase, Spalletti would guarantee a blockbuster style of play.

While silverware is of prime importance, so is the luxury of sitting back and enjoying one’s team entertain and as the veteran’s Napoli side have shown, the football is always box-office.
