Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter in anger after Takehiro Tomiyasu was nowhere to be seen, as the Premier League released a shortlist for Player of the Month.
What’s the story?
Well, some Arsenal fans believe the £16m man’s performances deserved to see him named on the shortlist.
The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Salah, Allan Saint-Maximin, Joao Cancelo, Antonio Rudiger and Ismaila Sarr find themselves on the list.
In fairness, Tomiyasu could’ve easily made it.
The 22-year-old came into Mikel Arteta’s starting lineup on September 11th, starting the 1-0 win over Norwich.
Tomiyasu went on to start the next two games as well, which saw Arsenal record a 1-0 win over Burnley and a 3-1 win over Tottenham.
Before that, the Gunners had lost three Premier League games in a row, so the Japan international’s impact is there for all to see.
Sadly, Tomiyasu’s efforts have not been recognised.
Who else, along with Tomiyasu, deserved to be there from Arsenal?

In our view, Arsenal could’ve had a number of players on the shortlist.
Aaron Ramsdale could easily be a contender for Player of the Month, for similar reasons to Tomiyasu.
The £30m man came into Arteta’s XI for the 1-0 win over Norwich, and proceeded to help the Gunners to three wins in a row, keeping two clean sheets.

You could also make a case for Gabriel Magalhães, who has performed superbly throughout September.
For now, let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about Tomiyasu’s exclusion…
