What a year Dejan Kulusevski has had.

The 22-year-old winger joined Tottenham Hotspur back in January, and over the past 12 months he’s been establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s very best players.

He’s earned praise from far and wide and has made one hell of an impact at Tottenham, helping the north London club towards Champions League qualification last season.

Kulusevski’s brilliant year has now been capped off with an award as he was named as the winner of the Swedish Golden Ball.

The young winger has now been named as the best Swedish player of 2022, and, to be honest, it’s hard to argue against his case.

Yes, Sweden have some fantastic players in their ranks at the moment such as Emil Forsberg and Alexander Isak, but Kulusevski has truly been the best of the bunch this year.

He made an indelible impression at Spurs during his first year at the club, and there isn’t a Swedish player who can hold a candle to him at the moment.

The scary thing is that Kulusevski is only 22, he has so much room to grow and develop, and if he continues at this pace, we could be looking at the defining Swedish player of this generation.

Sweden have produced some of the greatest attackers we’ve ever seen from Henrik Larsson to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Kulusevski could be on that same trajectory to superstardom.

Of course, Newcastle’s Isak will have something to say about that, but at the moment, Kulusevski is on another level to Isak.

One thing is for sure, Spurs are very lucky to have this young man leading their line.
