Klopp is shining in his position as Liverpool – with many supporters of the opinion he is among the best the club has ever had. Liverpool, under the German gaffer, are still on course to win the quadruple this season.
Approaching 400 games in charge of the Reds, Klopp has a contract until the summer of 2024 at Liverpool. Now, Liverpool are set to enter talks with Klopp over a new deal at Anfield – and he is open to extending his contract.
That is according to The Times. A new deal for the ex- Dortmund manager would delight the Liverpool fans. Ex-Liverpool defender Enrique thinks a new deal would be better than signing Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
Enrique on Klopp: Liverpool deal would be best thing Reds can do
While the players are the ones scoring the goals, taking the plaudits on the pitch, it is Klopp’s system, management, leadership that knits everything together. The family feel, winning mentality, feel-good factor is Klopp.
Liverpool could sign any player and it would improve the team – Mbappe and Haaland certainly would. But as Enrique says, keeping Klopp in the dugout is more important than any player. He is the heartbeat of the team.
Especially, if Liverpool go on to achieve more than just the Carabao Cup this season. If the Reds can go on and win the quadruple, then it will be the best season in the history of English football. He deserves everything.
