Liverpool fans were impressed with Christian Pulisic’s performance for Chelsea on Tuesday night in the Champions League.
Thomas Tuchel’s side will enjoy their journey back from Madrid because his Chelsea side managed to secure a 1-1 draw in their first leg encounter against the team that knocked Liverpool out of the competition.
Whilst Pulisic has had his injury problems this season, when it comes to big games, he brings out his best and that was acknowledged by the Liverpool faithful.
The Daily Mail did claim in March that Liverpool were a number of clubs monitoring the American speedster, with Jurgen Klopp keen on bringing him to Merseyside.
Well, the £58 million star’s (BBC Sport) control, composure and finish for Chelsea’s crucial away goal is something that would put a smile on Klopp’s face.
The German would have been hoping Pulisic was available to him when Liverpool were in Madrid last time out because he could have done with his ice-cold natured qualities.
Injuries have disrupted Pulisic’s progression this season, nor has the struggles under the now-sacked, Frank Lampard.
But with Tuchel making such an impact since replacing the former midfielder, it will be interesting to see where Pulisic can take his game.
Chelsea’s forward line already jam-packed, and whilst Pulisic impressed last night, he isn’t a certain starter.
So, if you are a certain Liverpool then you don’t have much to lose by testing Chelsea’s waters in the summer because they may have to part ways with some of their talented stars, anyway.
