FourFourTwo have released their top 50 teenagers in the world list for 2023, and there’s space for a Leeds United player in there.
The Whites have a number of talented youngsters on their books right now such as Joe Gelhardt, Crysencio Summerville and Sam Greenwood, but, unfortunately, none of those are eligible for selection here as they’re all now in their 20s.
However, there is one brilliant 19-year-old at Leeds at the moment in the shape of Wilfried Gnonto, and he placed 38th on this list ahead of the likes of Manchester City’s Rico Lewis and Manchester United’s Shola Shoretire.

Gnonto places high
FourFourTwo gave the Italian a decent write-up when putting him in this list.
“Wilfried Gnonto set up Crysencio Summerville in consecutive heart-stopping comebacks but the Leeds United forward has been coming for a while now. Italy’s youngest-ever scorer, in the long-term at least he might just be an excellent silver lining to missing out on landing a big-name striker in the summer,” They wrote.
The future is bright
Leeds United’s season may not be going to plan right now, but it may just be a matter of time before the Whites begin to rocket up the Premier League table.
Indeed, with the likes of Gnonto, Greenwood, Summerville and Gelhardt in their squad, in a couple of years’ time, Leeds will have an incredibly bright frontline, and that’s before we even mention Illan Meslier and Pascal Struijk at the back.
Say what you will about Victor Orta’s recruitment over the years, his youth signings have been spot on more often than not, and it may not be long before Leeds are seeing the fruits of that labour.
