The Mexican international is a player West Ham could finally rely on to score goals.

Statistically he measures up to some of the very best strikers the Premier League has to offer.

Here is a look at a number of big name strikers who over the past six seasons have inferior minutes per goal records to Hernandez.

Considering Romelu Lukaku has just been sold to Manchester United by Everton for £75 million, Javier Hernandez would be an incredible signing at his £13 million release clause.

Hernandez’s goal record over the above span is also superior to Zlatan’s performances for United last season – and Arsenal ace Alexis Sanchez over his past three seasons at the club.

West Ham have lacked a striker as clinical as Hernandez for years, and signing him would be a real coup and lift the atmosphere among fans to one of hope instead of recent frustration.
