Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has signed a new six-year deal at the King Power Stadium, tying him to the club until the summer of 2024.

Ndidi is highly regarded as one of Leicester’s finest players and fans are naturally delighted with the news. The Nigeria international has been a key member of the squad since joining from Genk in January 2017 and fans of the Foxes will want to see him develop into one of the leagues best defensive midfielders.

Tenacious in the tackle and a strong distributor of the ball, Ndidi can act as Leicester’s defensive shield for years to come and he was instrumental in the 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

The 21-year-old has twice been voted the Foxes Young Player of the Year and had the best tackle success rate in the Premier League last season, reminding fans of the exertions of predecessor N’Golo Kante.
