Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to discuss an 11-second clip of William Saliba playing against AFC Wimbledon in the Papa John’s Trophy last night.
The Frenchman – who has been left out of Arsenal’s Europa League squad – has only appeared for the Gunners development side this season, making six appearances.
His night ended in sour fashion as he received a red card for a slightly out-of-control lunge, although he did win the ball.
Despite that disappointing incident, Arsenal fans have been sparked into a reaction on Twitter after watching a ‘slick’ piece of footage involving the centre-back in the 52nd minute.
The clip shows Saliba being chased down by an AFC Wimbledon attacker, before the former AS Saint-Etienne man performs a first-time Cruyff turn to evade the oncoming forward.

Impressively, the 19-year-old then surges forward with the ball, before playing an incisive pass down the left flank.
It showcased the teenager’s talent on the ball, and also his ability to drive forward as he looks to make things happen from the back.
Presumably, you would think Mikel Arteta will be impressed by this clip.

Having been schooled under Pep Guardiola, the Spaniard presumably wants his centre-backs to be ball-playing defenders, something that Saliba certainly seems to be.
Let’s see how the Arsenal fans on Twitter reacted to the footage…
