Arsenal and Liverpool have both been linked with RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku in recent weeks, and the Bundesliga midfielder’s form is now hitting unimaginable heights.
This weekend saw the former PSG prospect hit his 23rd goal of the season in all competitions, a record that equals the likes of Erling Haaland and is only four behind Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah, who many regard as the best player in world football.
With Bild reporting that they will only sell Nkunku for €75m (£62m) this summer, it’s no wonder why Leipzig are eyeing a club-record fee for their French superstar, who is now reaching heights nobody could have predicted from the 24-year-old.
Leipzig will face a struggle to keep Nkunku this summer

With 23 goals in all competitions, as well as 13 assists for good measure, Nkunku has been one of the most productive players in Europe’s top-five leagues this season, a record that is even more incredible when you factor in his role as a midfielder.
After such an incredible year, interest is going to be sky-high in Nkunku, with ESPN already reporting that Arsenal are tracking the Bundesliga dynamo and Foot Mercato claiming that Tottenham and Liverpool are also showing a liking to the Frenchman.
Indeed, Leipzig have sold star players before for high fees, with Timo Werner and Naby Keita taking their trade to the Premier League for big transfers, and the way things are going, Nkunku could be the latest export to head from east Germany to England.
Arsenal and Liverpool could be embroiled in transfer battle

Arsenal and Liverpool are both likely to spend big in the summer, with reports already suggesting that the Gunners are looking to sign a midfielder to partner Thomas Partey in the long term. And whilst Nkunku might not be the perfect player, his form is making it hard for him to be ignored.
23 goals from midfield is an outstanding record that very few will ever achieve in their careers, let alone for a top European club competing in continental football. And for Nkunku, his form could see Arsenal and Liverpool battle one another for his signature.
