Rangers picked up a second win under Pedro Caixinha with a thumping 3-0 victory over rivals Aberdeen at Pittodrie this afternoon.
The Gers went into the game a whopping 12 points behind the Dons in the race for second place, and they had to win to stand any chance of leapfrogging Derek McInnes’ men.
Caixinha was looking for a big win after disappointing draws with Motherwell and Kilmarnock, and he got just that as Rangers scored three goals in six minutes to obliterate Aberdeen late in the day.
Kenny Miller opened the scoring as he followed up Martyn Waghorn’s saved effort with a powerful finish into the roof of the net, and he made it two just moments later, slotting past Joe Lewis after a superb pass from Joe Dodoo.
Substitute Dodoo then rounded off the win by breaking clear down the left hand side, cutting in field and then driving a low shot into the near corner of the net to seal a 3-0 victory.
After failing in big away games under Mark Warburton, Caixinha has already picked up a huge victory – and he had substitute Dodoo to thank for a sensational cameo.

The Ghanaian winger, signed from Leicester City, came on for Joe Garner with just 20 minutes to play, but he created a goal and then scored a goal in a productive appearance.
Fans took to Twitter to rave about Dodoo’s performance, suggesting his introduction was one of the main reasons for the Rangers win, praising him for his pass for Miller’s goal before his own strike.
Others urged Caixinha to start Dodoo in Rangers’ next game against Partick Thistle next weekend, as he’s a better option than Garner in the Gers attack.
