Tottenham have their eye on Fulham talent Ryan Sessegnon… with good reason.

The word ‘wonderkid’ is often used a bit too freely when describing young footballers, but in the case of Ryan Sessegnon it fits aptly.

Sessegnon is just 17 and is in his second season starring for Fulham’s first team.

He is making such a big impression week in and week out that there are even calls for England to take him to the World Cup this summer, with his club manager Slavisa Jokanovic backing him to do so [SkySports].

And then there is the small matter of which club he will be playing for next season, with Tottenham Hotspur claimed to be preparing a bid with Fulham wanting £50 million, according to the Telegraph.

This would be 10 times the fee Tottenham paid to sign English sensation Dele Alli, but figures show Sessegnon has outperformed him.

Sessegnon has one more goal than Alli after his first 60 appearances, and has scored these in the Championship, rather than League One.

Dele Alli has gone on to be a major success in the Premier League, scoring more than 40 clubs goals and going on to represent England.

His £5 million fee meant he did not have the deal with the type of early pressure Sessegnon could have if he moves for big money, but everything the teenager has shown so far suggests he can handle it.

£50 million would be a record fee for Tottenham, but if Sessegnon continues to outperform Alli, then they will be snapping up a bargain.
