Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard scored again to book the club’s place in the FA Cup fourth round.
It was his second goal already in 2018, and he is now the club’s second highest scorer this season behind Romelu Lukaku.Lingard has scored 11 goals this season, seven in the Premier League, three in the League Cup and now one in the FA Cup. He also has four assists.
His run of form has had United fans comparing him to Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli and calling for him to take his place in England’s starting XI at the World Cup.
Alli, who is four years younger, has nine goals compared to Lingard’s 11.
Alli has five in the Premier League, three in the Champions League, and two in the League Cup. He betters Lingard’s assist tally with a total of nine. Both players have featured in 26 club games this season.
