Jamie Carragher has stated that Arsenal are a ‘better’ team than both Tottenham and Manchester United, as he told Sky Sports.
But he made it clear that Mikel Arteta’s side can’t do ‘special’ things like Spurs duo, Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane, or Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford.
On Wednesday night, the race to finish fourth took a bit of a twist when Arsenal were beaten by Liverpool, whilst their neighbours picked up three points away at Brighton on the same evening.
Alongside the north London duo, West Ham are still battling for a Champions League finish, as well as out-of-sorts, Manchester United.
Despite Carragher thinking Arsenal don’t have individual players of the quality of Kane, Son and Ronaldo, he is still backing them to ‘just’ secure fourth at the end of the season.
“They are in a fight with Tottenham, West Ham and Manchester United,” said Carragher.
“The difference is when I watch Arsenal is that I think they are a better team than Man United and Tottenham.
“But they have got individuals, who can do special things, like Harry Kane and Son. Or Ronaldo. That’s probably what they lacked. Odegaard gets that chance (against Liverpool). Harry Kane probably puts that in. Or Ronaldo puts that in.
“I think the team he (Arteta) set up. The way they play. The togetherness, it looks like a proper team. A well-coached team. I think they will just do it.”

It’s the Gunners who hold that fourth spot, one point ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United with two games in hand.
Added with that, they are three points ahead of both West Ham and Spurs, but they have played two games more than David Moyes’ men and one more than Antonio Conte’s side.
Usually, one team has the points on the board and the other has the games in hand.
For Arsenal, they are leading on both charges, so this is theirs to well and truly mess up.
