Leeds United fans on Twitter have reacted with intrigue after Todd Cantwell was left out of Norwich City’s matchday squad on Saturday by his manager Daniel Farke.
The Press Association has been linking Leeds United’s name with Cantwell’s – and Farke’s decision not to select him for action will only add more heat to those rumours.
Without Cantwell in Norwich’s matchday 18, Farke’s side went onto lose to Derby County 1-0 with Wayne Rooney netting a late free-kick for the visitors.
Understandably, Leeds fans are keen to know the situation surrounding Cantwell and whether it increases their chances of signing him.
The bad news for someone like Farke is that he has to wait until October 16 to get rid of his transfer headache because the domestic window doesn’t slam shut until later on this month.
So, this potential saga could drag on for another couple of weeks and Cantwell could find himself sitting on the sidelines until then.

Or the Whites could push for someone else’s signature such as Dan James, with the Sun claiming that they have been in ‘regular contact’ about bringing the Manchester United man to Elland Road.
Given that a selection of Leeds fans noticed that Cantwell was missing from their 18 on Saturday then it suggests that there are some who would be keen for him to join up with them this summer.
