Tottenham Hotspur are doing extremely well at the moment, and it would appear that Ange Postecoglou’s side are in the Premier League title race along with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

After all, Tottenham Hotspur are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment.

And, they are still unbeaten in the league.

Tottenham Hotspur above Arsenal in Premier League table

Tottenham have picked up 20 points from eight matches, as many as North London rivals Arsenal, who are second.

Defending champions Manchester City are third with 18 points, while Liverpool are fourth with 17 points.

Tottenham’s main objective this season has to be to finish in the top four of the Premier League, but could they launch an unlikely challenge for the title?

Well, according to Garth Crooks, they cannot.

BBC Sport pundit Garth Crooks gives his verdict

The former Tottenham forward and BBC Sport pundit believes that Arsenal are more likely than Spurs to win the Premier League title this season.

Crooks told BBC Sport: “Tottenham might be sitting pretty at the top of the table on goal difference at the moment, but unless they venture into the transfer market, and send a message to the rest of the league of their intentions, I fear Arsenal are in a better position to achieve their objective than their neighbours.”

In my opinion, Arsenal are in a better position than Tottenham Hotspur to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

After all, Arsenal do have the better squad and the Gunners also went close to winning the title last season.

However, you just never know.

Not many expected Arsenal to push Manchester City hard for the title last season.

So, Tottenham could throw us a surprise this season.

It is unlikely, but you just never know in football.
