Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard has raved about his Gunners teammate Granit Xhaka on Viaplay Fotball after the North London derby against Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal got the better of Tottenham 3-1 at home in the Premier League this past weekend.
Switzerland international midfielder Xhaka was among the goalscorers for the Gunners.
Norway international midfielder Odegaard has spoken highly of Xhaka, and has noted that he is improving steadily.
Martin Odegaard on Arsenal teammate Granit Xhaka
Odegaard said about Xhaka, as transcribed by TheBootRoom: “Incredibly happy for him. As everyone knows, he’s had some tough moments here. It’s been a journey for him, he’s been through a lot.
“He’s worked hard through it all, focused on improving – steadily becoming better and better, winning the trust back.
“You see in the ovation he gets at the end of the game here. He played a fantastic match and scored. I’m very happy for him and he’s important for us.”

Growing in importance
In our opinion, Granit Xhaka has established himself as an important player for Arsenal, and his importance in the team is only going to grow.
The Switzerland international is being played in a box-to-box role now, and he is flourishing.
The 30-year-old has scored two goals and given three assists in eight Premier League appearances for the Gunners so far this season.
Xhaka is playing with maturity now, and he is showing that he is a good leader on the pitch.
The midfielder is a senior player at Arsenal, and he is playing like one.
