Some Leeds United fans on social media are rather worried after it was announced that Graham Scott will officiate their game against Burnley this weekend.
The referee doesn’t have the best reputation amongst the Leeds fanbase due to the fact he failed to penalise George Baldock for an incredibly reckless challenge against Tyler Roberts earlier this season.
We hate to criticise a referee, but in this instance Scott made quite an obvious error as Roberts could have been seriously injured by Baldock’s challenge, but the tackle wasn’t punished with a red card.
Of course, that’s a one-off mistake and Scott is more than capable of performing his duties to a high level, but we can understand why Leeds fans are worried about Scott officiating another of their matches.
Fingers crossed Leeds’ game against Burnley is free of controversy and Scott’s name can stay out of the headlines.
